    Morning Everyone :)

Have been searching for a book for a friend who because of his illness can't concentrate for long so needs lots of pictures and not too much writing, something about nature or countryside.
Went to Smiths and discovered a damaged book section at reduced prices. Found a lovely big book about African wildlife with a ripped cover, but underneath the cover was exactly the same.
It was priced at £25 but with no reduced sticker so took it downstairs and asked how much it was. Three assistants said they didn't even know they had a reduced section! Anyway she said she'd scan it and it came up as........£1 :j:j My bargain of this Christmas I think :)

Our Smith's has a reduced section as well, but unfortunately they tend to be price marked, never found something that cheap, would not have been able to resist that book!

The funny thing is that I found the reduced section in our Lidl, and have been watching it and grabbing the odd bit from time to time, and the staff at the tills didn't even know it existed!

I am a great believer in fate and this book in the unknown and forgotten reduced section has been sitting there and waiting for you to come and collect it - right time, right place, right person :T

Avoid this post if you are not in a good place this morning and then come back to it later.

En route to the Boots £1 lunch yesterday Robbie Williams was on the radio so I went in search of his lyrics.
The chorus bit is very apt - even if we have to howl it into the compost bin while attacking it with a hand trowel (my preferred point of call when my carefully tended rhino hide starts to crack)

    Love My Life
    Robbie Williams

    Tether your soul to me
I will never let go completely
One day your hands will be
    Strong enough to hold me

I might not be there for all your battles
    But you'll win them eventually
I'll pray that I'm giving you all that matters
So one day you'll say to me

    I love my life
    I am powerful
    I am beautiful
    I am free
    I love my life
    I am wonderful
    I am magical
    I am me
    I love my life

    I am not my mistakes
And God knows I've made a few
I started to question the angels
And the answer they gave was you

I cannot promise there won't be sadness
I wish I could take it from you
But you'll find the courage to face the madness
And sing it because it's true

I have always thought he should be a country singer, his lyrics actually have meaning, love the words to Angels too.

Its funny you should say that mhoc. I had just that feeling myself. Several things I was having trouble finding/buying seemed to fall into place on that shopping trip.

Have been rereading one of my favourite Christmas books for about the fourth time - Winter Solstice by Rosamunde Pilcher.

Lovely novel set at Christmas in snowy Scotland. Always makes me feel really Christmassy :)
