Enjoyed a lovely few days with dgd but unfortunately when her mum left she forgot an important xmas present . All bagged up and ready along with dgd rucksack with clothes for last few days plus a spare pair of boots.
Taking dgd to theatre tomorrow afternoon in London before meeting her mum for full hand over of child. Been worrying about bags, could I manage, would we be allowed in theatre ect plus how hard it is to keep track of a 4 year old unless you have their small hand in yours. So I have made the decision the 2 bags are going into a small case and said case is being left at the luggage facility at st p.where they charge £12.50 per bag (hence one large instead of 2 small. Very happy now decision has been made.

Took dgd to cinema to see Ballerina today. If was a delightful film. Originally made in french I think then English voices came later. Dgd took it all in and afterwards was galloping around practising her jumps. She does ballet so had a good understanding and really wants to see the nutcracker. Tickets tomorrow are courtesy of a dear friend who happened to know a cast member and managed to get me some Elite seats. :j:j:j will tell all once I stumble home.
Dgd has been an absolute delight these last few days.

Sounds like a lovely day, enjoy the show:D

  • We didn't tell our kids we were going to Lapland until we got to the airport, just got them up at the right time, then got them up again and went :D Used all sorts of excuses to get them to try on the thick gloves :D

Sounds a great way to do it.

DD did it via the elves, the elves get up to all sorts in the run up to Xmas but the other night they were found dangling from the tree holding special letters which each contained an invite from Santa to go and see him.

So tragic. DD2 was there around this time 2 years ago. Could easily have been her walking around the market :(

trying not to look at the news.
Eldest sons GFs Dad (originally from near Shrewsbury a very long time ago) and step mum live in Berlin - they went out in August for the beer festival.
Eldest son and GF are at her mums and step dad, much further south - fortunatley they decided not to go to Berlin this Christmas

Looking for ideas - What do you all do for a starter with Xmas lunch? TIA

    Nothing, not any more.

I used to do prawns, or soup, or smoked salmon, and little smoked salmon parcels were nice, but I abandoned starters a few years ago as they just seemed to be an extra problem in my current smaller kitchen.
