    Good morning all....

So much has passed me by this week but today I am trying to catch up.

Before I forget I must say "fab artwork VT.....Amazing"....in everything I forgot to comment on during the last week the penguins put a brief smile on my face.

ILTS...well done on finding some information on befriending and giving it a go...if it works out I think you might really enjoy it.
I used to do a similar thing a few years back, not linked to a charity but very locally with a neighbour whom I formed an understanding with.It took quite a long time to build foundations but our "gentle friendship" eventually lasted for 5 years until her death....but it was good for us both.
I totally get that some elderly people are not always receptive,my mum was similar but if you can find someone who genuinely just wants a little light in life without major strings on either part it can be so rewarding. It just goes back to being kind.

I've not seen Nanny posting....do we have an idea that she is ok...or still in the midst of a big declutter and then busy for christmas....hopefully LaLa is keeping her busy.

cjj...hope the job is going ok...it will take a time to really settle in but I hope that you are slowly finding your feet

My news....DS is home for christmas and new year tomorrow...we all plan to shut ourselves away and do nothing but eat and drink,a few coal fires and some christmas jumpers!.....that is until he decides to see his friends from school how are also all drifting back for the holidays.

    Have a lovely day all.

Glad you liked the penguins. I posted it with you in mind.

I think you will find things a bit more active with ds home. But I am sure he will be a great source of company for you as I know you are very close.

Today I had to ban myself from the internet & finish wrapping every single Christmas & Birthday present :(

    But I am successful

    Deed done & relax :)

how did you do this? I can only do it if I shut the main computer down and put the ipad and phone under the pillow upstairs and Ive even been known to unplug the landline - cruel to be kind.
Will all the interruptions i think it took me 2 days to do the wrapping
I still have to find more small things to wrap ...

I have a tech question again please.
I'm struggling with my 8gb memory phone, only have a few apps, been having to delete one to update etc.
I've just added a 32gb sd card but have no improvement as i can't seem to transfer any apps over. Is there something simple that I'm doing wrong please? ?

Buyitall told me to delete photos, messages and cache but still no improvement. (I have a Samsung J5. )
    Tia.
I too was disappointed to discover I could not just transfer my apps to the card. There are some that will and some that wont. Now I use a card to store my photos and the suchlike, basically anything I can get on the card goes on it, but it does mean I am rather restricted.

If you are on Marshmallow version of Android you can use the sd card as internal storage.

If you aren't, upgrade if you can and then do it or you'll need to root your phone to do so.

At least this means that in future we will be able to have as much storage as we want. Thank you for that information.

That Amex small shop map is well out of date, another 3 shops tell me they dont accept Amex and another 1 charges £1.50 to use the card, said no thanks and left. Amex did tell me the other day I would have to submit receipts for future fails, so wont bother to ring again.

Nothing to lose contacting them to complain - you can email through the Amex account area (top right).
