A funky tune:T, though I always expect them to swear when I hear music like this. That is absolutely no problem at all here at home. I did find swearing in there under 19th century standards - however no-one (or almost no-one) in the 21st century would consider that to be swearing, so there is none there. In fact, they were doing so well and then I got an implied swear at over 2 minutes in - but one of the very rare acceptable kind rather than the over 98% of times when it's not to me:rotfl:. I would have preferred an F word there though:rotfl::D. And, of course, the swearing in the comments which is always nice to read:D.
I think there is actually a swear word phrase in the song and very explicit in fact but not totally stand out. It will be missed by everyone else... until I've now mentioned it, and now no-one will hear the song without hearing it:rotfl:. So don't read Savvy's posts:p:rotfl:. It's strange because that's actually 'rationally' (or irrationally!) "more severe" than the word that they have not said out aloud but implied instead. I note that one part of Wikipedia claims that this actually-used word is a "mild" word, however I disagree as it was historically, for me, rationally one of the most severe of all relating to a certain type of thing (unmentionable lady bits, that in some places are not actually "unmentionable" at all - or not to me anyway). I would thought that the broadcasting research finds it to be "moderate" (whatever that is) rather than "mild", however a significant proportion of people consider it to be "strong". It used to be "strong" for me ("very strong" even at one stage) but tbh now none of it is - all these TV programmes that claim to have "strong" language that none of them contain any at all for me now:rotfl: - and it's had no physical impact, let alone any of any adverse effect, on me at all hence my saying it is merely "rationally" whatever it may be. Unless this is one of those mondegreens again:rotfl::rotfl:.
Actually, it reminds me - I went to Mr A earlier (for the non-glitch:( gastro fish) (happened to be a small A) and received more evidence that the F word is no longer swearing these days. Someone said it out loud and there was no reaction at all from anyone present. So, I doubt whether it is a "swear word" as it clearly was not "something that could not be said". (It wasn't even a name call - rather it was more like a normal phrase these days, said when no-one got angry so does not have - at least it does not for me - the connotations that people reading this from older generations tend to have with it.) However, I would not try it myself and wouldn't have said it just in case anyone did react to me. Maybe it was because it was after 9pm:rotfl:. Perhaps it can now be used in supermarkets after 9 pm:rotfl::rotfl:. It was highly unremarkable - in fact I should not even be mentioning anything about it at all as I have therefore failed to ignore it totally and I'm therefore actually the only one noticing it by mentioning anything about it at all. If it happens again, I shall therefore post nothing whatsoever:D:rotfl::rotfl:.
I don't know - perhaps it was because it was a young male shop assistant and young adults in a small shop later at night. No-one sounded drunk. I know someone was talking to friends in Lidl (a small place!) a few months ago and, in normal conversation, said it but you could hear it (actually it was even quieter than the Mr A case yesterday now that no-one commented about). The man on the till at Lidl (daytime) immediately told him to "get out" - I was fine until that point, the man on the till saying that actually made me uncomfortable (although that in turn would not have happened if it had not been said originally at all). No-one else in the store appeared to react at all, including 50-60 year old men, unless there may have been some body language that I failed to notice. Of course() the till man saying "get out" caused the young adult to respond with a volley of "abuse" - however the man on the till then failed to follow through his threat to chuck them out and it seemed to me his original objection had been half-hearted (merely said because that's what society expects him to say rather than it actually causing him or anyone any offence at all). Again, maybe I missed some body language. I was fine until the till man failed to ignore it(:rotfl:).
I often hear "swearing", in fact nearly every time, in larger stores such as M. Almost never in front of the checkout (though even one customer - actually an older lady of all people:eek: - slipped up recently as the customer in front of me, saying a "mild" word that the till lady made no reaction to but which actually caused me to have quite a significant heart sink (so not mild at all!)) but usually, in a big store, obviously what people say can't be heard across the whole building so people do get overheard saying it like they do in the streets. It's the young men talking to their fiancees in normal speech nearby me (also a young man and, therefore, as the 'language of my generation' very properly why they use it in my presence - I actually quite like it these days:rotfl::rotfl: - I think they would be careful if I was an 80 year old granny - or maybe they fail to notice me because I am autistic (giving out no sub-conscious body language to them to detect my presence, gosh this is heavy again Savvy:rotfl:) which therefore is a good thing as stranger people don't watch their mouths around me and nowadays I like it) - one stranger person nearly, with their friends, twisted their toe in a store the other week and an F word under the breath (albeit a bit muffled) which I rather enjoyed. There was nearly a building site inside one store where they are rebuilding some of the aisles and, late at night, I think I heard swearing from there (F derivative), just like you'd expect:rotfl::rotfl:! That's if it even is swearing anymore:rotfl:.
I think, unless you are literally shouting at me in a situation in which I fear that you might physically assault me, or if you bang desks and chairs, pick things up and throw them in anger, than other than those situations, it's completely fine by me - and then if it's shouting at me (and causing me to fear assault), it's the shouting at me that's unacceptable. Otherwise, I don't care as I hear it "too often" these days - to the point where it is now impossible to be too often. I've heard it thousands of times, to the point where no further use can anymore add anything to that - and anyway I don't see why it should matter, as no-one objects to words such as the word "the" or "and" - and, logically, either every word in the language should be objected to or none at all. (Ah - that admirable(?), or not:rotfl:, on-and-off switch, no dimmer switch, either it's black or it's white and there are no grey areas, approach of mine again.)
I think a recent survey (Daily Telegraph?) shows a huge significant change here - 75% of people aged 50 and over thought that swearing is a big deal, but 95% of 40s and under thought that swearing is not a big deal. That's an absolutely huge change between the generations - and does that mean that, if I say something that is considered swearing but when 40 years old and under are around, that I have a one in twenty chance that I will be objected to but that the vast majority of the time I will "get away" with it? 95%! No-one but no-one is truly offended by it and it's all a big charade!:rotfl::rotfl:
Almost no-one, but no-one, ever mentions swearing in reviews of songs - probably 3 out of over 1,000 - so it is a total non-issue.
Actually, it's the radio that I now :doh:discover gave a completely false picture of the world to me when I was younger. I now, only now, as an adult discover that virtually every music artist that I ever heard swears in other songs that I never heard. I wasn't aware of that and didn't know it was acceptable like it is. Indeed I got the completely contrary and entirely misleading impression when I was a child: my parents and teachers lied to me and suggested to me that no-one ever says it. Now, if they had told me, "We all say it all the time and it's acceptable but we pretend to you that it's not and that you don't say it" then I would have understood:rotfl::rotfl:.
It's actually been, in some areas, to same extent, the biggest problem in my entire life and still persists to this day - me being made uncomfortable by words in certain situations in which people generally do not say them and I just wish my parents/teachers (society) had never created it for me by perhaps somewhat overprotecting me. It's made me have this persistent problem like I do which I have struggled throughout life to deal with but has become better through overuse and now I'm no longer uncomfortable when overhearing stuff in outside public places (I used to be, about fifteen years ago) - it's all become milder and therefore better (or, even, hardly swearing at all for me nowadays - so, good again - or even if it is then it's irrelevant just like it is in movies etc. or else brings moments of tension that are never personally offensive to me or in comedy it's very strange to call it "strong" when it's laughter and not offence at all).
I bet there's no swearing in that song at all - I bet it's me and my "dirty" mind mishearing things again:rotfl:. And mishearing them here in way that I like:D because I like things that are "naughty":rotfl:.

Interesting choices. And some fine music, thank you very much:T:T. Not the sort of stuff I regularly listen to - so this is new ones on me. (And not the stuff we hear all too often in public, which they seem to pick absolute rubbish a lot of times these days. I'm already old again:rotfl:.)0 -

Got bogged down in Kant yesterday, I'll let what I read stew for a bit before tackling it again, but did get my 400 words done :jmarmitelovemehateme wrote: »....I actually saw another human out walking this morning.......At least I think it was human...Couldn't really tell in the darkness....
Think you and I have similar routine, but I saw no one, not even the runner I usually see. He makes it look so effortless. I can't run to save my lifeStrangely I did know this. It must have been on an Attenborough programme or the like.
Oooh, thanks. I'll have to see If I can track it downAnyone else know any quirky facts / info about milky way / night sky? Or can someone point me in the direction of some poetry? TIA
Something unexpected happened which made me smile and still continues to make me smile.
