So no problem not cooking them first? (From chilled, opened and straight into freezer.)
Sorry, you're being nearly as unclear as they are now - I have Asperger's, as most people know, so need to say explicitly and clearly to me that that's what you mean. You freeze them straight from the chiller, once opened, without cooking them first?
Sorry if it seems I'm being difficult - I'm not, I just don't do this implication stuff very well:rotfl:.
I plan to take the now frozen product out of the freezer in about three days' time, defrost thoroughly and cook thoroughly - I assume that will be okay even despite the 24 hours limit (which I assume freezing, without cooking, does extend)? Do I even need to defrost it? Can't I just cook it thoroughly, from frozen, as if it were now a bought-frozen product?0 -

Sorry Savvybuyer, I should have been clearer, I have a son on the autistic spectrum.
I buy the packs from the chiller, open them and put them into smaller one person portions, in freezer bags, uncooked, then freeze them. I will then use these direct from frozen to make, for example a chilli.
If I use a full pack, from the chiller, and make, say a spag bol, I use what I need, let it cool, then freeze the left overs in one person size portions, in freezer bags, then freeze them, and then just warm them up when I need in the microwave.
Hope this is clearer for youI, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.

Yes it is. I'm not making chillis or anything, just eating them as chicken pieces. I haven't used any freezer bags - I guess I should have mentioned I've just put them into a packet that already has some Chicken Nuggets (non-Quorn, real meat chicken) in it. Guess it's not the best way of doing things, am I risking contamination even if it's frozen? I thought if it was chilled in the fridge, I'd need to worry. (I guess contamination is more of a risk if you don't cook things thoroughly? I figured that, as I would cook and eat chicken nuggets, and they wouldn't be contaminated, poison me, and as I would eat the Quorn and it wouldn't be contaminated and poison me either, then it won't matter if they are in the same packet as they are both frozen.)
I guess I haven't a clue about these life things:o, but I'm in the right place for asking.0 -
