I like sending and receiving them bubbs. We have lots of family far away and it's a chance just to stay in touch.

DD and DS wouldn't even think of sending cards
I think I send at most 2/3. But I always get one from my uncle, which is always an NSPCC one showing a Christmassy scene in London, and I love them. I keep his each year.

So pleased to hear you've booked up durham:T:T Will you be away for Christmas?

Am I the only one not to win an amazon voucher?
Nope, add me to that list.
Only 17 days to the shortest day, that'll fly by now.

off the top if my head Chez Jules - French and very lovely, 2 course fixed priced meals with daily change of menus

But I will have a proper think tomorrow - is this for lunch or evening, normal dining out or special occasion? Weekday or weekend?

meals don't seem to cone up very often on grpupon/livingsocial for Chester - I suppose it has so many tourists it does not have to try so hard. Sometimes you see good afternoon tea deals - Ive seen one recently for Blossoms which was excellent value.

Good evening mhoc....your Christmas dinner went well by the sounds of it......no disasters anyway... you'll be like Dawn French come Christmas Day......sick to death of them:rotfl:

Id love to go away for Christmas, get away from it, but getting a sitter for Rebecca isnt that easy at that time of year.

I will join you on a list TM, but then I haven't actually entered yet. :o

Been busy weekend with DD1 down with Teeny. :A

And after they went had to cram both freezers into one, biggest game of tetris ever which Mr TS took charge of but we lost.

So a chicken defrosting for tomorrow and we ate apple pie and ice cream for afternoonses. ;)

One freezer is sat on patio defrosting the other is in Mr TS's workshop hopefully just for the day.....and now there is a nice big gap in anticipation. :D

    How did DD2's test go?

And how did you get hold of Marmies apple pie?:o

Oh no poor DD:o I'm surprised she's talking to you:rotfl:

All inclusive too...take some loose fitting clothes:rotfl:

I've never been away for Christmas. I don't know if I would cope:rotfl:

DD wanted me to stay home, feel sad she couldn't come but don't see much of her over christmas with work n her been at her boyfriends.
ThOught all inclusive was better for kids as if they are been picky it doesn't matter so much plus u can budget a bit better.
Booked with jet 2 prices were more realistic than all the other companies, also took off some hold luggage & transfers to save on costs.booked direct transfers easier for ds1 and it was cheaper.
This is the 1st year we have done it but plan to do it every year if we can if it works for us. I did go away a couple of times at Christmas when I lived at home as a teenager and I liked it, but we will see.

She said she only just finished it, not overly confident as she said by the end she just couldn't think any more.

Very small percent actually fail but it is towards the ranking scores for first choice of area and she has picked a competitive one.

They don't actually find out until the junior doctor job offers come through in March, so it's a long wait now.

I'm sure this pie wasn't to Marmites standards, it had a yellow sticker. :rotfl:

You might actually save money you know.....depending on what you normally do at Christmas....even just a few meals out can cost a fortune here. Plus you will have lots of fun in the sunshine. You won't have to spend much:)
