Basically Thornton v Shoe lane says that once a contract is concluded (i.e. you've paid) extra terms can't be added on.

but they aren't being added on if they were always there and the purchaser was simply unaware

On purchase of a gift card you should be told the terms and conditions of sale/purchase...They didn't.......On top of that If i were to purchase a gift card and as its name states a gift....Why should the onus be on me to tell the receiver that it is only valid for a period of time......Over 6.5 billion pounds is spent on gift cards each year....No wonder they have expiry dates....companies must make an awful lot of money on expired gift cards...

I await a response from HOF....Whatever the outcome....there should not be expiry dates on gift cards...:D

I made my xmas cake a month or 2 ago, a third generation family recipe that uses things like coconut and pineapple as well, love it, nicest tasting fruit cake ever, and SO moist...BUT... there is a lovely recipe for one in todays mail magazine, again, it seems a little different with the ingredients, so going to have a bash at that tomorrow.
