Happy shopping.Mortgage debt 45,000. Thank you all for your help so far in helping me save to buy the house. I could not have done this without all your help.0 -

Morning
I've been for some double up coupons this morning :j though a severe lack of till spits this week from Sanyone else? I'm just under £2 away from my next tenner, going to have to get some stuff on the my coupons list I think
I decided to keep my non-glitchy gammon because we do love a bit of gammon in our house - most likely a roast at the weekend, a few sandwiches and then a chicken, ham and leek pie (mash top) next week with a bit extra for the freezer :j
I'm very impressed with how organised you are Di!Final cigarette smoked 02/01/18

Has anyone read this
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/savings/2016/11/pension-early-exit-fees-to-be-capped-at-1-regulator-confirms?_ga=1.40466852.761400980.1476183966
Does this apply to the 25% you can draw down from your pension pot which is tax free - I never realised there were fees attached - never seen it mentioned anywhere.
When OH went back to work on Monday he had emails asking if he was still interested in the new job as discussed in October. This was the one whereby they had interviewed several unsuitable people who they could not work with so instead they wanted OH so they asked him to consider applying.
So OH came home and we discussed it, his CV and application were all ready to send off so all he had to do was press GO.
Back came the reply that the job has already gone
So why ask him for his CV on Monday then - it looks like one of the unsuitable ones from October has been appointed instead
OH is taking it philosophicallyBasically he said to management it was their loss.
He thinks it is all political as most things seem to be. I think management realised that if OH took the new role then someone from Brum would need to take his job which would leave Brum shorthanded.
Similar has happened to eldest child twice - a lot of management nagging and pressure to apply for new rolls only to be told the vacancy had already been filled.
Weird management mind games“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -
another mad thought occurs re Amex small shops.
On my list is a hotel in the middle of town and I wondered if I was worth being cheeky, wandering up to reception as if you were a guest passing through and asking them if they sold postage stamps ....
Just a thought - they would probably just send you to WHSmiths up the road though ....“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -

Good morning all....
I'll start off with all the things I've missed recently.
Congrats to Di's sil 2b ...great news on the job even if it just gets them all over christmas.
ILTS.... lovely to see you posting sweetheart...I have been worried about you and know that there is no timeframe for grief...you have and are doing well making sense of it all....one day at a time is one milestone xx
I've not seen Nanny posting for a few days...hopefully she's having far to much fun on a pre xmas jolly somewhere.
Tweets...I see you've popped in and wished us all a good morning....I hope it is for you too xx
I guess mum at the hospital is taking up a lot of time and your energy but just wanted you to know I'm wishing you well and again you are in my thoughts....
...as is TS again I'm hoping the hands are starting to ease and maybe you are busy catching up with RL.... but again I'm wishing you well too xx
I am debating whether to enter into the U & G club...I could go to the nearest train station in the hope of some metros but I'm not sure what to do with it all once I get the stuff..its not something we drink so I may give that a miss even though it seems to be going on and on.
I have a huge bag of hipp bits and bobs so am also planning on dropping them off at the T food bank now I have finally used all my vouchers up.
I need to be thinking about christmas presents too...I've only actually got a few to buy but as always my sister and BIL are the stumbling block...I just never know what to get them...they have everything and over the years we have probably exhausted every voucher experience or gift that might be suitable....hey ho !!!
Have a lovely day all xfrugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

Di, you are so organised, with wrapping presents and writing cards. I have got 1 present so far.
Can you come and do my shopping for me.
As for christmas trees, the lady next door to our local school has her tree and decorations up, and a great big Frozen Elsa in the garden.
I am now sandwiched - my neighbours on both sides now have their Xmas wreaths on their doors.
But only one gift left to buy, so not bad on the present front.
I received my first card in mid-October :eek: from someone who was going away up to and including the festive season.
That sets a new record here for the earliest Xmas card ever received...“All shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well.”0
