Hiya all - just a quick check in after being AWOL on holiday. Barcelona was fabulous even though I was in pain all the time with the walking and general getting about. My poor knees nearly gave up on me at times, not helped by a fall in the bath after a shower on the first evening which led to me being stuck in their for 20-30 minutes trying to find a way to get up and out. I eventually got my back up onto the ledge at end of the bath, got one leg up onto edge of bath, then turned myself over to land front end on toilet I had put the seat down first and landed on my poor worst knee on marble floor. Another five minutes and I was up on my feet, and rang Steve/Andy in their room in tears at the shock of it all and how useless I felt. Multiple bruising but no damage otherwise, except to my pride and confidence

We got about Barcelona using the hop on/hop off tour buses and as I was able to get upstairs, we saw everything I wanted to see and had some lovely meals out ... and even came back with 200 Euros between us

Had mixed experience with wheelchair assistance at Stansted and Barcelona airports, having to climb stairs onto plane on wayout and off plane on way back, when I had said that climbing stairs and standing around were my main area of disability. Still, everyone was very friendly and helpful and we managed

Airport lounge was well worth it, so thanks for the encouragement to try it

After we got back, I stayed with friend down in Portsmouth and we had the day in London on Saturday - Harrods with one of the group of 6 of us having a 1 hour makeover, though they got 2 hours for no extra as the guy doing it was enjoying doing it. Then a Pizza Express meal using CC vouchers, trip to Liberty store which I have always wanted to see. We had parked near Olympia in two cars (thanks PD) and used tube to get to Harrods but a couple of Uber codes to get to Liberty's and then back to cars, so a very :money: day

Not been able to read anything since I went away on 15th so may or may not catch up, but will take it from here at least

Hope everyone is well and you have had lots of bargains. Anything I should know about at moment please? I did just notice the Green J1n so have downloaded that app

Sounds fab! We are off down to London for the weekend. Staying in an interesting Airbnb....... We have a little book of walking tours we are working our way through - Notting Hill and Portabello Market tomorrow. I would like to walk through the tunnel under the Thames to Greenwich too. I thought it would be quite spooky for Halloween.

I like to look at all the Xmas shops in Fortnums, Liberty, Harrods etc.
Hopefully enjoying the experiences, not buying 'stuff'!

I shall be packing the Magnesium oil!!!!!!
