Awe, thank you. I thought I was prepared for it given her age, but I really wasn't. I am still finding it so hard. We received her ashes back last week and that just broke me. My poor other doggy Ruby is absolutely bereft.
Poppy used to sit on the kitchen floor, right in the middle of the oven and counters, ready for food falling in all directions:rotfl: I still find myself "stepping" over her:(:( But, my god what she'd do for a piece of ham or cheese:eek::eek:

NS&I are still offering 1% for their direct ISA but its one of those no transfer in ones

Principality are offering 1.05% for 2 years and 1.45% for 5 years


We have the same problem with our 2016 ISAs - Nationwides have now dropped their rates below 1% for ISAs, my ISA is just the virtual jam jar for bill money until its needed but I need to do something about OHs before long.
Trouble is Nationwide are closing 2 of my very long standing savings accounts on December 1st and the 5% one finishes mid December so I am putting off any decision making for a couple of months.

In the meantime Cunard have a very nice December voyage which I am watching the price of, gets back to the UK 5 days before Christmas - much more satisfying spending money instead of saving it with the current pathetic rates

Lidl occasionally put boxes out so will keep an eye out in there, and we have a nearby Aldi that has just been extended. It is frustrating because I used to often see stacks of boxes, but our Tesco hasn't done that in yonks, hopefully have a trip down costco soon, or even Ikea, will move the boxes out of the dining room and check what is in them next week.

Just we have some bankers boxes that I won with a shredder and they look the perfect size but they are full of Christmas/birthday presents and bigger boxes justo would not fit there. Still amazed at the price of them though!

Boots branches (but not the large ones on the retail parks) have lovely boxes that they are happy to give away.

Sturdy plain brown boxes mostly. We boxed loads of books using those.

The retail park branches compress and cage theirs ready for recycling, but the small branches are usually quite grateful to get rid.

It was connected, it just could not receive it. When I have read about this, some people have received it without problems... then there is me! (and a few others).

our Sophie cat usuallly sleeps cuddled up to her Dads neck but the last couple of nights she has decided to sleep downstairs so we have had to leave the dining room door open for her incase she changes her mind during the night.
Of course this means that one or all three of our cats join us for various parts of the night which is fine unless someone decides on a grooming and purring fest The most unnerving thing is if you get woken in the night by someone washing your elbow :rotfl:
Ronnie cat cant retract his claws so as he prances up and down the hallway it sounds like someone walking about on stilettos
Its the change of the seasons and the early dark nights upsetting the normal run of things, before long normal service will be resumed, Sophie upstairs and boys in the dining room

Tooth still sore, though not so bad as during the night. I think it's actually my gum. I have a bit of a wisdom tooth where it hurts which I think occasionally shifts and comes through a bit more, so rather like a baby teeething. It will probably settle in a day or two but if not I have a check up next week anyway so will mention it then.
Finally went to sleep around 4am. Woken about half an hour later by Jasmine doing that kitty kneading thing on my legs. Then marching to and fro on my pillow with her feet through my hair, all accompanied by high volume purring. Finally she settled down for a groom - right by my head so all I could hear was lick, lick, lick. Kindly washed my face a couple of times too lol. Now of course she is fast asleep.
Should be at Luton airport at the moment but DH went by himself so I could get a bit of rest. He's collecting his cousin's son plus girlfriend who are spending a few days in London. The son was one of those adorable chubby babies you could just eat. He's 26 now, just back from peacekeeping duties in Syria and the Lebanon and about to start his police training. Where do the years go?

Been to LL to day, to obtain some of the parcels (I have a few boxes Enterprise).

I was informed by a snooty sales woman (who could not work the till and had newby badge on) that LL had not agreed to participate in the nectar promotion, and that the rest of my orders have been cancelled as she rang head office to complain that it was taking too much time. I highlighted that I had not received any cancellation e-mails, and that the promotion costs are met by Nectar not LL. The lovely lady who was serving me looked embarrassed by her.

ps the circus cake bake moulds are fabulous well worth the 99p..... lol
