Oh you are very fortunate. :)

That's 35 earning years or 420 paydays, 35 Christmases and 35 birthdays till you retire.

Somewhere in there, I'd advise you get yourself in a pension plan if you haven't already done so.

You must be the youngest on here, same age as my DD. I've read your posts and often wondered where you get your energy from, and now I know. It's youth. Enjoy every minute and aim for the most fun you can have. :D:D

    I'm now 62-not-out ! x

Afternoon all! Just popping in and out as I'm at work, but I think I'm younger than PD, she's living a whole other decade to me :rotfl:

I sometimes wonder whether the younger generation are that bothered about saving money, if they want something then they buy it, but then again I suspect the money-saving ones are mostly frequenting HUKD and 10ways!

SSM - glad to hear you found a good mortgage to switch to. Very jealous of the short term though!

Hope everyone is well and Frocking along nicely. I think I'm going to struggle to finish on-target, but I did wonder all along about going for £60 instead of £50. Clearly my subconscious was aiming for that :D

It's been lovely - I have been thoroughly ruined.

B/day dinner and cake and candles with DD and kids on Monday night as she had an early finish. Today I have had a wonderful lazy day to myself, had lots of phone calls too.

DD put chunky money into my bank, bless her (I do sense the beginning of role reversal due to my 'advancing years' here....:D) What she said was 'I thought it was better than giving you stuff, saves you all the bother of taking things back...:rotfl:)

Had nightwear, M&S gift card (:D:D) and Boots gift card (:D:D) and lots of b/day cards from friends and relatives.

Also £7 voucher and a 'free gift' from Damart, so bought new thermal top, so it's worth registering your b/day... no idea what the free gift is, except it is single size, so I suspect duvet cover...

So all in all, on top of the happy month we've all had so far, it's been great, thank you.

:bdaycake: Happy birthday, glad you have had a good day.

    So savings so far today.

    £10 Debenhams
    Lots of wine (thanks Scamp)
    £556 gas/electricity swap
£25,000 approx. in mortgage repayments (but frocking for a long time to pay the high monthly cost).
    £20 a month (changed telephone/internet).
(and claiming nearly £500 back of CC which some horrid person had been using naughtily).

    Thank you x

They really messed it up for our age-group, didn't they? But hey ho, our response can be to aim to live as long as possible to get the max out of it!

As the link suggests, 20% off East Coast journeys. I've downloaded the app and you get points. Reviews are enthusiastic but since I don't travel East Coast very much, it hasn't helped me yet.

Ive had this Virgin red app for a few weeks ago, daily quiz and various challenges, share something and get extra points which open vaults to various prize draws - on the 1st of the month it all zeros and you start again.
Also buy a hot drink and get another free with a code - might be very useful on a wet cold winter afternoon having half an hour in Nero to dry out with free wi fi - not much dearer than having a couple of drinks in Greggs

    Good Afternoon All

Completely out of the loop with my Mum still being in the Care Home for rehabilitation.I am looking after her affairs, house and visiting 2-4 then 6-8. Have been sitting in car between visiting times because too far to get home and back again. Staff have noticed and said as an exception I can stay between visiting as long as I keep a low profile and look like I am leaving and then go back in.

Think this is because I had to talk to Senior Staff and and explain about my own health issues. they arranged for me to have a meeting with Mum's Social Worker - didn't even know she had one, But apparently everyone in the home has one allocated to them.

It's so sad for the patients that have no one to visit and are just waiting for permanent residential care.

Hope you are all well and finding loads of bargains.
