I don't know what is going on again, as I have Nestle Blue Riband 8 pack at 85p in M, yet it's showing as going up to £1.64 online and only ever having gone down to £1 before. I seem to have an M where the prices are cheaper this time than any other M - there was no indication that this was any RTC, but that should not matter anyway, and I seem to be in a parallel world where completely different prices to online exist. Is Kellogg's Variety pack £1 in M? It's showing £2 for M online (not that £1 is any good as this is for very low weight overall:rotfl: - you get much better just buying an 'ordinary' pack size of cereals box). I also think the Pepsi 8 pack cans at £1.75 is doubtful, even though I clearly saw it on Wednesday collection day, and have they not been down to 99p one time ages ago? Unfortunately(?), the store where the lower prices seem to be on was my main collection store for the day and, as the offers were clearly showing and with future expiry dates, I did not think to check them elsewhere in the next store or the few after that. That was until this issue started arising and the two items I scanned at a further store scanned there at full prices. I do not know whether the primary store had put next week's offers up early - otherwise I think the following may be store-specific (unless someone else has them elsewhere) and, where applicable, that is where A has the product or equivalent on a.com, these are not going to compare on the APG against the lower prices:
Silver Spoon Granulated Sugar (1Kg) 44p - this showed 50p in every other M I saw.
Ambrosia Rice Pudding (400g) 43p - again, showing 50p in all other Ms.
M Vegetable Oil (1L) 72p - unfortunately this scanned at £1.20 in the later M.
Sharwood's Plain Poppodoms (8) 77p - showing £1 until 9/10 online.
I do not know about Garlic/Coriander version.
Farrow's Giant Marrowfat Peas (300g) 30p, shows 54p online.
I am in doubt about the Fairy WUL as well and whether I have the right weight for that, although I note there has been a 870ml version produced (shows T unavailable on one version of that online) - so I have 870ml at 97p and 780ml at £2 and any 2 for £3 elsewhere.
Kellogg's Variety Pack - £1, who knows.
I have £1.75 for each of three versions of Pepsi 8 cans packs.
Nestle Blue Riband 85p - I am not putting this onto the list anyway as it's probably much cheaper at Farmfoods.
Could this be a preview of next week's offers?
There will be a lot of changes in M next week as many offers are due to end on Sunday and I'm expecting it to be extremely hectic. I don't think the following week will be as 'bad' although I'm expecting a few changes the week after that as some offers are due to end then, although not as many as this Sunday.
Otherwise the M which shows these prices already is Rochdale. Some of the offers are described as price crunch and as "guaranteed" until into the New Year, although I do not know how they can make that "guarantee" or what mechanism there would be to enforce it (it seems to me none as no contract would exist with anyone to keep them at those prices) if, perhaps due to changing competitive conditions, M ever decided to have to go back on that guarantee. I don't think you could insist on the "price crutch" prices, even if they decide to change them before the "guarantee" period, as it's merely an invitation to treat (or maybe, in respect of the self-service, it's an offer to supply:rotfl:, but that's complex law). Nonetheless, I do not know and if anyone wants advice, I'd direct them to Citizen's Advice consumer service.
Perhaps Blue Riband (which, as far as I am aware, is not one of the guaranteed prices) going down to 85p:eek: is quite consistent with online going up to £1.64 as suggesting that, indeed, the offer is due to start on Monday as it's gone up to £1.64 in order to be a crossed out "was £1.64" price next week, when they put it on offer (except I seem to have the offer in one store already). It makes it look much better than crossed out £1, now 85p. I think 77p is my price guide however and Farmfoods is probably quite a bit even cheaper:rotfl:.0 -
