For those of us down South a SW train offer. :money:

    https://www.southwesttrains.co.uk/offers--days-out/offers/promotion/

The offer price does not show for tickets on National Rail enquiries. So it is best to check ticket prices actually on the SW train website. Have had to book 2 train trips during the offer period and SW trains showed the best deal whether a cheaper ticket or the offer.

Pah, already booked my tickets for October, and no good for tickets in April.

Fancied some wine, but would need to order 3 cases to use voucher, sneaky sneaky :o

Oh & Dad has had a mini stroke but refuses to see Dr as does not want to go back to hospital ever again :)

Hi, hope you dad is OK snap.

We had a phone call Saturday night well Sunday morning 12.15 to tell us that mil was being took to hospital with suspected mini stroke.
Nearest hospital A&E closes at 10pm I think so had to take her to a hospital over 20 miles from where she was.
And guess what, they did nothing, said nothing could be done as she was already on medication for strokes, and sent her back to the home where she had been for the last 8-9 months.
As far as strokes go, I think this was more than a mini stroke, right side of face dropped, right arm just very limp, but got some use in it, could only really say yes or no yesterday but that's slightly better today. But the confusion is no better. Really sad to see.

I'm not joining in on the October thing cause I know it's just impossible for us right now.
Back in September (16th) my eldest dd had a house fire, luckily no one was in, just the dogs but they weren't hurt, and the fire was caught early so not much damage only the cooker, so for 3-4 days a week my cooking for 3 of us jumps to 8 :eek:

She struggling with her money too as all her tax credits for her child care has been stopped, due to the new company that took over.
But she has had a letter of apology and said it is being sorted ASAP.

    Opps sorry to waffle

My plans for a semi frugal October (cos I will be away in Spain for 2 weeks so it wouldn't be the full month) have gone right out of the window ! My iPad has gone doolally again and, inspite of backing up, restoring and reloading everything its still rather poorly. The Apple store in Plymouth want to look at it to have a fiddle about (the lot in Truro basically told me that iPads can't be fixed if they go wrong and anyone who says they can be repaired is lying!)

I'm fed up with faffing about so I plan to go into Plymouth tomorrow, buy myself a new one and see if they can fix the old one so DH can have it. So my plan for a £40 October spend is knackered well and truly.

    I don't blame you I d be lost without mine.:o

Christmas Biscuit Mug £1.00 @ Poundland (More in comment 1)
    http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/christmas-biscuit-mug-1-poundland-more-comment-1-2522304

I noticed the beer crate for £1 - I wonder how many bottles they hold? I am thinking that even if they just hold 4 then they would be good as Christmas gifts for the refuse collectors/window cleaners etc

My dad was the same, to be honest there isn't anything they can do, as Fernie said they just prescribe aspirin which my dad was already on. Crikey it's been a busy week for mini strokes on here hasn't it

To be fair I suppose they are actually doing their job properly we just don't like it because it doesn't work in our favour.

Bed all painted and headboard recovered but I'm now in it so no pics tonight. I'm waiting for cold feet I've really enjoyed this series. My nephew told dh on Saturday night that he is the spitting image of hank from breaking bad both looks and mannerisms so that's the next thing we need to watch.
