Thanks a lot. I had that idea in the back of my mind but thought it would not be possible . have now talked to ds3 and am going to ring pwllheli college ononday and ask them. If it does not work out I can blame you ;)

yes I thought it must be well sign posted - I know that it is as you go towards the Birmingham toll road
also looking at the website it seems to say if you pay within 24 hours of going through you won't be fined - if I'd read this correctly.
If errant son had made it clear he had gone via the Dartford tunnel but he hadn't know wether or how to pay tolls we could have gone online and figured it out.
as you say he might have been treated leniently because of his northern address
and he did the right thing ringing them up firstly - I would have just have paid up - so that conversation saved him a lot of money.
