:eek:Of course I did not research my Rowntree's Pastilles 4 pack to see that they were not cheaper elsewhere - I just assumed:eek::eek: that nowhere else would be cheaper. The worst purchases are usually ones that I get 'caught' into buying instore and haven't checked beforehand - it usually turns out that somewhere else, maybe on another product or pack size, works out cheaper (than what merely looked to be a good offer). Often you can only effectively do a shop by checking in advance online and not getting caught by things that look good when you're instore:rotfl:.

    But...did I do right?

    Phew! Thank goodness for that:rotfl:!
But... can I be sure that they have picked up everything that Aldi has anywhere? (Since, I believe, they obtain the Aldi prices they show from instore.) What about Lidl? Can I be sure that Morries, or elsewhere, have not got store-specific stock on reduction somewhere because the packs may be slightly damaged (or otherwise may be on RTC shelf with sticker in error:D) but all the sweets inside completely fine and unaffected? And can I be sure that none of the "---" stores have not really gone on way cheaper RTC on the product somewhere instore and that that is the reason why the item is not showing on their website:think:?

Those pounds do seem to be "stretching" at Poundstretcher. Usually in favour of their direction:rotfl:. But, to be fair, the product is often the usual expensive() £1 at several places, so £1, maybe in the public generally's mind, seems to be a 'good' price for this. It's Farmfoods at 49p.

I didn't give up! I thought there had been some suggestion in one of my stores, having to read between the lines again - probably from the total absence of the product from the shelves:rotfl: - that these had gone onto RTC. (It may have been a busy day and the haze of a brief glance and me seeing some momentary RTC sign that didn't register with me in some store some time ago - I don't think I did but - maybe I dreamt it:eek::rotfl:.)

Well, they have now turned up for me! I have found them in Crewe:T:T. I didn't have to look very closely for them - there were quite a lot on the shelf and quite prominent that they have gone onto reduction at this store. I think they are still £3 as the regular BC on the bottles would 'probably' scan at that but I reckon that what has happened is that any stores that still have stock left are marking them down (I could be totally wrong though and for them to turn up in someone's store at regular £3:rotfl:) and there were store-specific stickered BCs on top of the normal ones, which may be replicated elsewhere, and they are £1.50, at least in Crewe as of yesterday.

I will obviously be changing the note, as "I can't find this in M now" is now incorrect. Still no luck on the John Smith's Golden Ale bottles:rotfl: - can someone put me out of my misery and tell me what price M have those at now?:rotfl:

That said, about the Winter Warmer wine going onto RTC - obviously now is the time to be buying all winter products - I had some onion sets earlier marked on store-specific RTC in one store and I thought they might be clearing out of M too. Not so, as is absolutely obvious, from another store which I did not visit back then but have since visited, that they remain at £1 on the shelves there.

I did have some store-specific markdowns on some plants yesterday. I had the Grow Your Own Unicorn (vegetable plant) at 9p, some £2 version of the Potted Carnation marked to 99p (if only they would have some £1 BC stock around and mark that down even further:rotfl:) and Potted Geraniums (these are normally much higher price and therefore aren't on the list) at 49p in M in Stoke. This was yesterday though - I bet they all put them away and don't bring them out again today:rotfl:.

I had some Kellogg's 5 Grain Muesli Cereal Bars (both versions) each at 49p and a box of the Savers Strawberry Cereal Bars at 39p on RTC shelving at Stoke. They were all shorted dated though. I took the Nestle Shreddies 500g box at 55p:D:p:rotfl::rotfl:.

Meaning that... :eek:my 1Kg box from elsewhere earlier at £1.55 was too dear!:eek: Should have been £1.10:p. However, I did not find a box of 500g Shreddies at 55p and a 1Kg box at £1.10 or even three boxes of 500g Shreddies at 55p each, so we just make do with what becomes available and I've got the best price on that so far. I had a damaged pack (but obviously fine inside) of the 500g Kellogg's:D Crunchy Nut 500g at 50p from another store:p.:D Crewe, however, were offering battered Shreddies 500g at £2.19:eek: on the RTC shelf whilst the regular stock is on offer at £1 - obviously some packs that were put there before the offer began.

there is very little point in looking for good yellow label items or anything with a good RTC item on the battered tin section in any store in CREWE or Nantwich or Sandbach - hence why most of my groceries are Aldi these days
CREWE Morrrisons had a big re vamp recently and the plant section was re positioned. They now sell the totally dead plants for just pennies off the full price

Thanks for this - sounds like my own stores all the time, hence why I have to get things I come across elsewhere:rotfl:. They always seem to have good RTCs only at places hundreds of miles away from my house!:rotfl::rotfl:

But I thought I'd check. And yes, you're right about pennies off sometimes!:):(:rotfl::A (Happy that you're right - unhappy that it's pennies and not worth it at all, obviously, when they are dead.)

Fwiw, they had some Gladioli - I think it was at Stoke (I forget!:rotfl:) - at £1.50 (:eek:) - not sure if they were dead though - I think they may have been on their last legs. They are £2 in M now - which I did take on Monday but in the end it didn't get to the list because I thought, really, they aren't very large even when they say they have an extra 20%! There are better flowers (price-wise) I come across from time to time, that are on pence (49p, 9p) and are in better shape - obviously been out for a few days already - but they just seem probably there for the day, will have doubtless sold by the time of closure and I don't see much point mentioning them - besides I don't even bother getting their details most of the time! They never have any on any good price in my stores.

I think those plant sections have been repositioned at several stores, usually in order to make way for "garden centres" that M stores have. I have avoided most gardening items throughout the gardening season:rotfl: - surely they will all be cheaper afterwards (and before)!

Crewe M was mostly hopeless for me yesterday - it was my first store of the day and left me with so many items outstanding! Not had that many for a while - and this store wasn't as bad the previous time that I used it. I also wasn't very fond of roadworks being on virtually every road to and from the store:mad:. That said, however, it provided two vital items - Morliny Hot Dogs and Gino Battered Nuggets - that I had nowhere else yesterday:T. So it was an essential store to visit depending on where I was yesterday.

I've now got the Lockerbie Cheddar back (not there but elsewhere) and had it back on Monday elsewhere - but, in the (different) stores I've visited on Monday and Wednesday, it has been £7/Kg:(.
