Did lots of voluntary work at WFC so thought that your paths may have crossed.
Ah, I see. The charity isn't specifically linked to WFC, although there are strong ties both with it being local and through Graham Taylor. KitAid's founder, Derrick Williams, might well know him, he's the one with all the contacts. Sadly he wasn't able to be there yesterday as he has just lost his mother in law who lived abroad, so he's away sorting out her affairs. Hence I was roped in.

Microsoft and its incessant updates are driving me bats

I finally got the computer back from Errant son at 4 this afternoon - he has now moved onto making a 6 foot high pile of stuff for packing on the dining room table

I needed to check the various accounts and make sure all the bills are paid, usual start of the month stuff. I could not get onto First Direct or Marks - tried IE11 and Chrome and then Oh downloaded Firefox, no joy. Mostly I got page not found but then even when I got to log in I clicked submit only to get page not found

OH, our resident IT expert did the usual, upgraded the c cleaner etc. he then tried to do a shut down and restart and then we realised Microsoft wanted to install yet more updates - main computer won't shut down until they are all done.
Last month Oh had an electrical 10 min job to do which needed shutting the power off for 10 mins but to shut the main computer down it took half an hour while it did 20 updates

So now it's updating 14 more updates which has taken 3/4 hour
