Cars comparable to the Honda Jazz 1.4

Hi

My mum currently has a Honda Jazz 1.4 which she likes but is getting on in years so she wants to replace it.

She is strongly tempted to buy a nearly new Honda Jazz to replace her old one.

Whilst I don't disagree with her simply replacing like for like I do think she should look at the alternatives to check that there isn't something better for her out there.

However I don't know much about cars so little idea about which others she should consider.

Any advice / suggestions ?

Many Thanks

Jenny

For the sort of thing she's probably looking for you can't really do much better than another Honda Jazz, particularly the new model.

When you say it's "getting on in years" exactly how old is it?

Honda Jazz's are ultra reliable & cheap to run. The newer ones even look quite stylish. I think she's spot on to get another.

Never had a Jazz but had a couple of civics and never let me down. Honda are renowned for making reliable cars and were recently in a survey one of the top makers for reliability and cheap to run when you factor in deprecation, service, parts and reliability.

I quite like the Jazz although seems to be predominately driven by more mature people ie 60+ and I ain't a young person 50 ish.

Good my daughter has a fiesta but I like the Hondas as they well built. Like i said seem to be a older person car most of time although not sure why perhaps its reliability although I think Jazz does nice looking car and colours are quite nice

oh and almost forgot when i went to Honda garage a guy who works on bashing out bumps he is self employed and goes around all makers garages says Hondas in his opinion are one of best makes.

    Thanks everyone,

The Jazz she's got is nearly 8 years old but she uses it a lot including a fair amount of motorway driving so it's got a good few miles on the clock.
She is getting on in years so she is the stereotypical Jazz driver

I'm not really trying to persuade her to buy something else just be aware of what other options there are out there so she makes an informed decision.

    Cheers

I doubt any alternative will be as reliable as a Jazz. They may lack character but not every owner puts any priority on character otherwise we would likely all drive Alfas, or indeed French cars or Jags.

Perhaps a Yaris Hybrid would make a good alternative?

For me the Jazz is the best small car around, better built and more versatile than Fiestas and Corsas in my opinion. I have no driving experience of any other small cars. As suggested above a small Toyota might make a good replacement, sister likes her Yaris very much.

Wife loved her Jazz, but found the new one had too many buttons. She went for a Yaris instead.

Consider also the HRV - its a Jazz but on stilts looking like a 4x4 (but actually just front wheel drive).

Alice Holt Forest situated some 4 miles south of Farnham forms the most northerly gateway to the South Downs National Park.
