Hello,
Our first is due on the 19th August and we are both really excited.
My partner is the one having the baby and she is self employed. However she has only just finished university so she isn't earning as of yet as she is currently in the process of setting up her own business.
I work full time and with overtime I earn over £40K a year.
Is there anyone in this same position and does anyone know what she could claim to help us out abit?
Many Thanks

Child benefit once baby is born, £20.70 per week.
Income is too high for tax credits.0 -
I am giving you this link to show you why (from what you say) your partner will not be eligible for maternity allowance.

Other benefits like ESA are means tested so you would not be eligible as all benefits you claim would be based on your joint income.
Ditto with maternity grants.
Once baby is born you will be entitled to Child benefit (as already said)
You can put your details into the benefit calculator on https://www.entitledto.co.uk to make doubly sure.0
