Lycos wow not heard that name in centuries. Seriously consider changing email provider.

I can't log on either and, yes, I'm changing email provider - it's happened once too often to/for me

Yes, prison for assaulting someone with a stick of rhubarb who was calling me nasty names :)

Or perhaps I was full on with other projects.

If/when I change my email provider, how would I move all my contacts etc.? I have been using Lycos for 15 years, I do all payments, car/ home insurance
and stuff is stored in files there it also means all junk mail goes there.

At the moment all Lycos domains are down but this is from Google cache:

Edit: Update it looks like lycos has gone bang and you might have lost everything:

Edit :Nope, looks like wiki mischief however they sat they are upgrading their service here :

A poor show just to wipe everything out without prior notice, perhaps they were hacked and took everything offline.

There may be an import/export facility on Lycos that you can use - it may export your contacts to, for example, a .CSV file, which you can then import into many things. Or you could always do it manually, copying and pasting stuff at least.
Each new email you get into Lycos from today - if it's from a friend, reply, telling them your new (GMail, Outlook.com, Yahoo) email address. If it's from a company, and you're actually registered with them, log in on their website, and change your details - any emails from them will go to the new one. If it's just a newsletter from a company, unsubscribe the Lycos, and subscribe the new one, or just unsubscribe if you're no longer interested.
It'll certainly take a while - months, years, to transition, but you'll be logging in to Lycos less often and it eventually won't be any use.

Lycos is back, how long for who knows.
I will store my contacts etc. somewhere else just in case.

Thanks for advice and help from all of you.
