Does Universal Credit tell landlords that their tenant is on Universal Credit?

Most Landlords want references, these may include work references and\or bank statements, which will pretty much lay it out to the LL where and what your income is.
I would never supply a LL with bank statement, I'd advice others to follow suit (but this is obviously not always possible)0 -
It's hard to find a new place when on Housing Benefit, but as others have said, if you're already in a place and you have to claim, then you don't have to tell your landlord, it also won't invalidate their insurance because of the reasons explained above. If the landlord still has the work references that is proof enough that they took on a tenant whilst they were working.
Things happen in life, businesses go bust, people become unemployed, just imagine being evicted because you became unemployed, then you'd probably be on the streets cause no landlord wants you and council houses are a rarity. Any landlord that wants to evict their tenant because they came onto benefits is scum - unless they are behind with their rent payments of course. Which is also why it's always a good thing to have small amounts of savings as the housing benefit payment may take some time.0
