When people are advising LBS ask for ‘childcare evidence’ what is this in the form of? Our childcare is grandparents - will they require a letter from the grandparents?0

Leeds dont use Experian, they use Equifax as their credit search agency.
My Equifax was showing a hard search they day of my DIP acceptance0 -
Me and my partner applied through Leeds via a broker on the 7th of March and got our offer through today. It was all pretty plain sailing to be honest, they didn't want to see any documentation other than what they requested at the start. It seemed to take a while for them to get to the offer stage after they had done the valuation but their staff were very helpful. Also got a very very good rate, I would definitely recommend them, especially if your credit history isn't perfect. My partner has 3 defaults that come off her file in December but they weren't an issue.0

Hopefully don't jinx things, but I have had a good experience so far with Leeds.
07/03 - DIP submitted to Leeds Building Society but refereed
08/03 - DIP Approved
15/03 - Broker submitted full mortgage application
20/03 - Letter received from Leeds BS advising I had effectively passed initial assessment and application was progressing
21/03 - Advised Evaluation booked for 26/3
26/03 - Evaluation carried out
Now just got to wait. Comments on here give me hope that I might hear within a few days or early next week, assuming of course the don't disagree with the price or have any further questions on my finances.
Update:
Receieved my offer on 28th March, although didn't find out until broker emailed on 29th.
Now just waiting on completion date from housing assocation as handover has been delayed a few weeks.0 -
Hi
Does anyone know if contacting your employer is part of the acceptance process with Leeds?
My broker informed me this morning that the valuation has been booked but my application has only just gone to underwriting stage which I am confused at as I thought they didn't book the valuation until they confirm everything is OK on my end?
But anyway, I have given 3 months wage slips and bank statements to confirm employment, along with a copy of my contract just in case, and my advisor has told me that this should be enough and they won't contact my employer, but after reading some of the threads on MSE I can see a lot of people have said they do contact your employer, the only reason I'm worried is that I had a terrible broker beforehand who delayed this whole process by a number of weeks, so i'm under pressure to sort things out, and as I work for a small private firm, there is only 1 official HR staff member who is now off work for 2 weeks!! so i am worried that if they need to confirm employment this will massively delay it again!
thanks0 -
Hi,
They didn't contact my employer during the process and from what my broker told me, they will only do this if you're self employed or haven't been employed for more than 6 months with your current employer.
I think you'll also find that if you're paying for the valuation they will carry it out at the same time as underwriting the application, but if a valuation is included as part of the mortgage then they'll wait until they're satisfied with your application. Have you had a letter saying that they've carried out the initial assessment?

Hi James,
That's good to hear
I've not been asked to pay for a valuation so I assume it is included in the Mortgage, my broker has not mentioned me having to pay for it! As a first time buyer I'm clueless about all this so I feel silly saying that I dont know, but would assume it would be brought to my attention if I needed to pay
I haven't had any correspondence directly from leeds, my application was submitted a week ago, and the valuation was completed yesterday, my broker has told me today that they are still reviewing my documents and won't have an update for me until Friday, and the Valuation report won't be back until Monday!
This seems a little bit longer than most of the above timelines! I am on pins!0
