Alarm box outside going off... How to stop

Hi, wondering if you guys can help.

My alarm box outside is going off and can't be stopped from the panel.

I know the battery inside the panel inside is goosed as when we had a power supply issue last week the alarm inside went to.

I can't find a fuse for it so can I disconnect from inside the panel?

Its and ADE Optima Compact and was in when I moved in a year ago.

Thanks

yes there will be a 12v feed to the siren, once disconnected it might still go off for a further (about) 20 mins as a tamper alarm, the siren housing probably has a capacitor which will power it.

Excellent, so the outside box is powered from the panel inside usually?

OK for some reason its stopped.

I can see a fused box above the alarm. I assume if I remove the fuse it will kill the power to the alarm and the batteries will eventually drain.

    Is this likely?

This happened to us at work once.

My boss took the box off the wall but it was too corroded to get inside. He then pounded it with a sledgehammer (no good), and dunked it into a dustbin filled with water (no good). Eventually he wrapped it up in an old carpet off-cut and put it in a shed under a load of junk and shut the door.

It was hilarious to watch as his temper got shorter and shorter. :rotfl:

Ours did this some years ago we eventually had to get an electrician to come in and disconnect it .
