Norwich Union Shares 1997

I have just come across a Norwich Union share certificate for 450 shares issued in 1997. I have been unable find any up to date information about them on the internet apart from they were taken over by CGN? and then Aviva. I have contacted Aviva customer services and advised that the share certificate is no longer valid. Apparently it went off the radar in 2000. I know that the only shares I have ever sold were Bradford & Bingley. I can not remember ever receiving any dividends for the Norwich Union shares. Does anyone know if the information is right, that they are no longer worth anything or is there someone else I should be contacting to confirm the lack of worth? Thanks
