Recommendations 1 night in Lakes "East side"

Hi all. Just a chance to spend 1 Sunday night out in the Lakes soon. Looking at recommendations rather than website search (you dont get them all anyway). Stunning campsites also considered. Many thanks.

    Usually you cant book one night only at the weekend in the Lakes, they seem to have a policy of a minimum of 2 nights booking, consequently I dont go there anymore, seems a rather odd policy to turn bookings away........

    I visit the lakes every year and always stay in Staveley (east Lakes), a little village right between Windermere and Kendal. Very picturesque and doesn't have the parking nightmare associated with the bigger towns.

    I always stay at a nice B&B I found there. They won't refuse you for 1 night only. Don't know whether I'm allowed to post the link but here it is anyway:
