Carphone Warehouse Returns

So I purchased a Huawei Nexus 6P on the 11th June and after a day or so noticed there was discolouring in the screen, which was making content and apps look weird when compared along side my previous device.
After looking online at if this is regarded as a fault, there's loads of posts of Google taking returns due to an issue with the AMOLED display, so I therefore assumed it is a fault too.
The Carphone Warehouse site clearly states that a faulty device can be taken back for a return, exchange of repair and doesn't specify if it has to be a contract device or not.
So I called in store yesterday and explained what happened, and was told I can only get one exchange and that's it, and was told quite plainly that I'll never get my money back, but whilst we rang citizens advice they went ahead and did an exchange without permission allowing them to then argue that they did something to help, yet behold, this phone has the exact same problem which we demonstrated in store as I opened it but was then refused any service.
They argued there is a specific store policy stating they accept no refunds which I'm sure is against my rights because the device is unfit and Unsatisfactory, yet there is no clear signage regarding this anyway and the sales assistant agreed he didn't tell me when I originally bought the phone, also I recieved a one sided receipt that contains no information other than the amount I paid so was not pointed to any extra information until they pushed me through the exchange where they gave me an A4 sheet, with the terms on and was told we wouldn't have read it anyway if he gave us it on the first day.
So basically I just want to know where I stand because there is a lot of deception coming from the store about my entitlements

Under the Consumer Rights Act you have an early right to reject goods that are unsatisfactory quality, unfit for purpose or not as described and get a full refund within the first 30 days
How did you pay? If you used a credit card start a section 75 claim.0
