Wednesday 15th June - What Small Debt Free Wannabe things will you do today?

Options
When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important! :money:

  • Morning guys thanks for starting the thread specky

majorly bumming right now as can't find the earrings oh gave me for my 40th. They are studds with a stone in. I've looked everywhere, so now barring oh having a flash of inspiration or coming across them I'm going to have to accept they are lost. Am really gutted...

Small things don't seem worth the trouble right now...

Am hoping to go to my new for allotment for an hour. There's an awful lot to do but I think the best thing to do is little and often! There is a lot weeds as it's been untended for "a while". So I'm going to strim the whole lot then over 2/3rds with cardboard and a black plastic sheet to suppress the weeds - probably till next spring. There is a strawberry patch under a corner of the patch that are doing well, some raspberry canes with some fruit but they need some tlc, an apple tree, a plum tree that needs to be pruned! Think I'll go in a minute as that will lift my spirits. Will take a flask of coffee, some sandwiches and couple of banana muffins from the freezer

Need to post some docs to my new employer for my dbs appl - realised will be much easier to post (and free as I have a stamp that to drive into the town, park up and take madam. No temptation to spend either!

use up 3 things from the freezer (other than things for dinner)

    read martin's email

stop at the coop for some milk & change holiday £ back at the po in the village

    All meals from stores

Ok that will do. Happy Wednesday everyone x

    Hi June Jubilatants,

    Thanks for the starter Speky.

Had one of those days where I couldn't get started. Finally peeled myself off the sofa at 6pm. I think I may be getting WifeFlu from the missus.

Anyway, it's not too late to get started.

MT hope things are Ok with your son, must be awful. And determined maybe those earrings will turn up somewhere unexpected. Fingers crossed.

9 hours paid stuff done. In fact I missed my gym class which would have cost me £4.50 plus petrol and worked instead. I dont intend to make a habit of this as my gym classes are important to me but its OK as a one off.

Bob we were talking about your business and being self employed. I admire you. DH has been self employed for 13 years and is struggling to do the job because of these health problems that we dont see to be able to get to the bottom of. He flatly refuses to contemplate the idea that he might not be able to carry on, which is one reason why I am working two jobs to keep us afloat. Very tricky situation.

Anyhow, jim jams, bed and library book I think. I can pay my wages for job no. 2 in tomorrow along with a cheque Mum owed me so that will help the bank balance a little.
