    Your insurer will deal with any claim against you irrespective of whether or not you wish to make your own claim

    That is what my insurer told me, in writing.


    They would have a hard time claiming against me when they drove into the back of me at a junction and then asked me (and I have the texts and emails) to obtain quotes for the repairs as they would like to not go through insurance). I meanwhile have informed my insurance of the accident and that I do not intend to claim for the damage to my car because it is of such little value and I don't want them to write it off

    My local garage suggest getting a new tailgate and bumper from the local car graveyard and fixing it myself (I am capable of doing that). There does not appear to be anything to make it undriveable. I just wanted the basic cost of getting my little car running again or a similar old WagonR of the same miles. I'm not interested in making money from this or pretending I have a sore neck - I buy insurance to protect me from catastrophe, not every little knock and bump life throws at me
