Hi all,
I've recently had to move and have managed to get a 1 bedroom flat but I've noticed that in the living room is a gap (about an inch) where you can see daylight all the way across, apologies for the poor photo but the gap you see daylight through is all the way across although that can't be seen in the photo

I only noticed it because it was quiet when I was in the living room and I wondered why I could hear all the road noise fairly noticeably which puzzled me as a friend of mine lives on a main road and I live just off the main road and he's much closer to the road than I am yet you hear no road noise in his house and the road outside his is much noisier.
Anyway I have an illness which if it was Winter I'd suffer quite a lot with the draft which would come through the window.
Can this gap be remedied easily does anyone know, without any major work involved?

Gaffer tape and some insulating material of whatever sort you can find.0

if its rented get it repaired by landlord0

What the guru said, if it's rented get the LL to fix.
As a DIY job you could pump in that expanding foam that comes in an aerosol can, that hardens and dries in few minutes and then trim sand and paint over.0 -
Looks like someone has replaced the window hinges at some point with 13mm stacks and it needs 17mm stacks. This has caused the window to drop slightly.
Replacing the hinges would probably fix it and costs less than a tenner. Of course, if rented, speak to LL.0
