Debit card charges

Has anyone paid charges for using a debit card????? I checked with my sky account yesterday and they have been charging me credit card fees 50p a month for...........17 years!!!!! I do not own a credit card and this payment is made monthly by debit card! Checked with the bank and it has always been by debit card!
After a few calls to sky and them admitting I should not be paying fees for a debit card....today they say they charge for both!!!
Any advice or help much appreciated.

Perhaps you should change your payment method to direct debit.

You were lucky it was only 50p per month. Virgin Media used to charge £5 per month if you paid by card!

If I were you, I'd challenge it in writing and ask for 17 years of 50p back.

It would be good t get the £6 a year back, but having been with sky for that long it would pale into insignificance against the package amount.
