LOL A few people up here will get all excited!! if Scotland was independent.

But from Easy jets requirements below

ID for UK domestic flights - what can you take?

If you are flying within the UK you must be able to identify yourself with a form of photographic ID. Here's a list to show you what forms will be accepted at check-in:
•A valid passport - an expired passport can be used up to a maximum of five years after expiry
•Valid photographic EU or Swiss national identity card
•Valid photographic driving licence, provisional or full
    •Valid armed forces identity card
    •Valid police warrant card/badge
•Valid airport employees security identity pass
    •Citizen Card
    •Valid photographic firearm certificate
    •Valid Government-issued identity card
    •SMART card
    •Electoral identity card
•Pension Book (the only acceptable form of non-photographic identification)

Passengers must present one of the above forms of valid photographic identification on all UK domestic flights. No other forms of photographic identification are accepted. If you do not have one of the above means of identification, easyJet cannot accept you for travel.

Does she have Young Scot national id card?

The airline can put any conditions on they like. If they say she needs a passport, then she needs a passport.

It is literally that simple - they will refuse boarding without it, so you will be out of pocket for the airfare and alternative arrangements (they will not pay this because the passenger didn't adhere to their conditions).

Just either get them to get a passport, or use an alternative means of transport.

According to easyjet she can supply alternative photo id, if she is 16 she will have a Scottish government issued ID card.

Perhaps the woman at the call centre "india" etc thinks Scotland is not part of the UK thus international flights require passport, You cant make it up LOL

Also ask them if your step daughter flies in from the independent Democratic Peoples Republic of Scotland, thus escaping from an oppressive regime can she claim a house and benefits LOL

Pension books haven't existed for over 10 years. Bus passes are accepted, they don't get a mention:rotfl:
