Unknown Searches

I have had multiple 'Quotation and personal searches' showing on my ClearScore credit report that I have not made. They all seem to be from loan companies/banks - around 10 of them this year. They all show my name, old address and my date of birth (showing the wrong month).
All correct searches show my current address and correct DOB.

My ex-partner still lives at the previous address that is showing on the searches I do no recognise. Should I be worried that he is doing searches in my name or is there another reason why they would be showing?

I was financially linked to my ex but I had that connection removed from all of my credit reports a few months ago. I have not been living at that address since 2013.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I'd be concerned that he's trying to get credit in your name. You should be able to dispute these, but I'd be tempted to get in touch with the loan companies to see if anyone's made an application using your name and your details from that address.

    Hi NicJane113,

Is there actually any credit showing or just searches? If there are no balances showing next to the loan companies names then it would appear that no credit has actually been awarded - but that doesn't mean someone hasn't tried - which is obviously a concern.

I would suggest you check the other 2 credit files first - Experian and Equifax (you can use Clearscore.com) and check if the information is consistent. If they also show these searches you should get in touch with Experian and raise your concerns and how you can get this information removed.

If any of the credit agencies shows credit has actually been awarded, and you didn't apply for it, then you should contact Action Fraud to report the matter, followed by complaining to the necessary loan companies - hopefully it won't come to that if there are only searches showing.

Definitely be worried. It happened to my brother after he split from his ex. Her and her new BF applied for multiple credit cards etc in his name. It only came to light when they tried to apply to barclaycard. He already had a barclaycard registered in his current address so they instantly saw a conflict (has card at one address, applies for card from old address), phoned him and opened a fraud investigation.
