Hmm, looks like my memory might not be totally out of wack. This article suggests they are starting to charge. Some don't seem to charge if you take out a large amount, say over €150. That may be why people who have been recently haven't been charged.

I found it a lot safer to go to a money exchange for cash. Then take a money card that can be preloaded. I wonder what will happen when, or if we come out after the referendum? Will the euro drop or will we be better off ?0

Why would it be safer to go to a money exchange than a bank ATM, and if you've got a Clarity why would you want to get a preloaded card?0
