need advice about transfer of equity fees

I am doing a transfer of equity on my flat (just adding my husband's name to the deeds - I own the property outright). it is a leasehold property. Today, I found out that the landlord wants to charge £597 in solicitors fees to authorise this transfer. Having looked online, it seems the standard fee charged by a landlord is 50-100 pounds. Is there anything I can do about this?

Quote your online research to the landlord and see what they say. They may have solicitor costs as well so £50-£100 wont cover it.
Are you sure that you are not confusing transferring lease documents to transferring tenancy agreements - as you sya Landlord rather than the Freehold Owner.0 -
