Thanks for your advice Yorkshireman. You seem to be the man in the know on these forums. Not happy that they want a fee for retrieving a document. Probably not happy we are doing probate ourselves as my sister did ask how much it would cost for them to do it just after dad died. It's not been easy these last few months as our mother died 2 months earlier.

I claim no particular expertise. There are plenty of others on here with knowledge. Unless the fee is more than £50 I would just pay up. You have more important things to worry about.
