Amazon Refurb Listing

I tried to list a game on Amazon under the main listing for that game and it's telling me I can't list because I don't have the approval to list a refurbished item and they're not accepting applications right now.
However, new and used copies are being sold on that listing, there's no mention of refurbished anywhere on the page or on any for sale and it's the main listing for the game, not like the US version listing or anything.
I'm looking to sell it used but it doesn't even let me fill out any info, it just gives the refurbished message and that's all.
I've listed under another page for the game but it doesn't say the platform or the reviews or have as many for sale and if you're looking for the game you're less likely to click that one which means I'm less likely to sell the item.
Never had this issue before, although as a private seller I don't list much on amazon.
Is it a glitch or error? Is it a way to stop certain people listing without stopping them listing entirely in the category or am I missing something and there's a way to list mine for sale under that page?

I don't know about games but I sell in an approval required category. In some of those there are sections where they won't allow further items to be sold.
I can only guess that the other sellers have the pre approval. Without knowing what it is it is difficult to help.0 -

There are 20 listings under the refurbished one, all of which appear to be business sellers.
On the other is a few private sellers and one business seller who is also selling the same item on the other page.
If it were a unique item made by a specific company I'd get it, but this is a video game sold worldwide in loads of places by businesses and individuals. With 20 listed it doesn't really look like they're trying to limit it in numbers, although perhaps in terms of business and individual. Whether that's intentional or not though...0 -
I don't deal in that area but Amazon has been glitchy lately and I did see there was ongoing problem there. May be worth contacting Seller Support..0

Oh right.
Just contacted then. Seems the restriction is because of the manufacturer which seems rather odd. I can sell the item in any number of places, there's other listings for it which are fine and yet that one listing the manufacturer seemingly doesn't want certain people to list on.
I was told I'd get forms to fill in so I can list on that but the message says they aren't accepting any for approval so not sure if they're different forms and whether I will be able to list on there.
Least I can have it listed on the site even if it's not on the ideal page. I guess I'll see what happens with the forms!0 -
The form is assuming I'm a business seller and I'm not so that was a waste of time -_-
Had a look at some other games out of interest. I can sell others by the same manufacturer and developer, but not all. Doesn't make much sense!
Wonder what their reasoning is and why Amazon accept it when it can be sold elsewhere as they're obviously going to be losing money because of it.0 -

They're a bit picky in certain areas. They'd rather block something off than get the sale fees.
Yeah. Still curious why the manufacturer doesn't want a few specific games sold though. Can't think of any reason to just limit that one page listing but nevermind.
I sold the game so I'm happyAnd Amazon do still get fees. Good to see some buyers do check other pages...although when I'm buying I sometimes wish they wouldn't :rotfl:
