Hello - Newbie Debt Free Wannabe

Options
Hello Everyone
I hope you don't mind me joining in. I'm new around here lurked a little and your all so inspiring.
I'm really wanting to clear my debts, I managed to pay a chunk before but since I've just pilled more and more on my C/Card so I feel like I'm in a hole again.
Extra money I get doesn't always go on debts as we are currently doing up the house too
But I have £6817.96 in total debt as I write this (just worked out)
I pay £55 per month towards one of the debts interest free so ideally would like to clear others first then work on that.

So I look forward to reading your tips any appreciated :)

Doing interest free last - is that what you meant?
One is an online shopping account (brought two items for new house on there) and one is credit card. They both have interest each month obviously. Interested free is an older debt I managed to secure a payment plan on interest free luckily.

  • I see you have one debt interest free so that is great and remember when your deal ends with this. Maybe you could do a balance transfer with your credit card which you have to pay interest on. Then you would have two debts free of interest. I like the snowball way of paying off debt. You pay minimum payments on all of your debts. Then you pay more to the smallest debt. Soon the smallest debt is then gone. Good luck.

    Hi

    Welcome to the forum.

It’s a good idea to complete a statement of affairs to get an overview of your finances. That way you can see whether you can economise anywhere, and pay more towards your debts. If you complete the template through this link you can post it here to receive some budgeting advice.
