joedenise said:We bought one a few months ago when Lidl had them as one of their Special Buys. Have to say I'm glad we didn't pay full price for it as we've hardly used it! There aren't many diet drinks available - we've tried the diet tonic and the Diet Coke, both of which are far too sweet!0

Has to be diet for us! I'm on a diet and DH is pre diabetic so needs to avoid sugar.

We have one that we were bought as a Xmas gift and quite like it for fizzy water. We also use squash (esp ribena) to make soft drink.
It is quite environmentally friendly vs buying a lot of soft drinks in bottles from the supermarket.2 -
We've had ours about a decade and use it frequently, soda water for spritzer and with posh cordials/juices for fizzy mocktails. We have tried the branded (schweppes?) syrups but I don't think they do them now. It is one of the kitchen gadgets I'm glad we have1

Was considering one as we use carbonated water all the time. But when Tesco sell 2 litres of carbonated water for 17p then it seems impossible to justify. Even just the price of a gas refil with the soda stream = 50p/L v 8.5p/L from the supermarket (based on £30 for a gas refill)

We only use ours for fizzy water (bought it in Lidl), because I was ashamed of the number of plastic bottles we were sending to recycling/landfill every week. But we only pay £19.99 for two gas refills in The Range. We previous bought them in Argos, which was slightly more expensive. Soda Stream also have a subscription service, which operates by post. Not sure if the details, but I'm sure it's a lot less than £30, as we considered it a while ago. We had a soda stream at home when I was a child, all I remember is disgusting sticky syrups and a drinks with very hard gas that didn't taste nice anyway. When I look back it's a blessing it broke down.
Ther is no way on this planet I would allow my niece to go anywhere near them. Drinking sugar and fizzies is bad for anyone's health, she can drink water or milk.Has @MrsLurcherWalker left the forum? No man is worth crawling on this earth.

Bought ours in lockdown, it was a good offer and we really enjoy sparking water and occasionally posh cordials (not sodastream stuff, didn’t like any of the samples)Downshifted
