Hi,
I have been with extraenergy for 14 months now and had no bill. iv rang and emailed a number of times and got nowhere. they take my DD every month and I am now over £1300 in credit. iv now gone to the ombudsman and extraenergy have offered me a £100 "good will gesture" and will refund my money when a disputed meter reading (from the previous owner/supply, nothing to do with me) has been sorted out. My question is, should I accept that offer? (my thoughts are not) and can they bill me for more than 12 months? if they cant should I just let this drag on and on.
Advice needed...

The 12 month back-billing provision of the Code will have no effect in your case as you have been paying Extra Energy money; and they can use that money to pay off any debt that has accrued.
Had you paid them nothing, and not had a bill (when it was Extra Energy's fault) you would now be getting the first two months energy free as they could only charge for the last 12 months.
I don't know what tariff you are on, but it will probably require payment by DD. If you stop paying by DD they will probably place you on their expensive Standard Tariff. Catch 22! Although you could reduce your DD to, say, £1 a month!
IMO take the £100.0 -
If you haven't had a bill, then presumably you could owe them all of that £1300 when they get around to finally issuing one. So I would not try to claim that money back until they have issued a bill. That way you will automatically have the funds to deal with the bill.
When sorted, move to a better supplier.
Good luck, hope you get it sorted.0
