What wood to fit between 2 fence posts?

we have 2 x concrete fence posts in the corner of our garden that are 4" apart, and next doors cat keeps coming through the gap. I'm guessing I can buy a piece of 4x2 (standard size) and knock between the posts to block the gap, what type of wood do i need? and will i need to treat it?

Just some pressure treated cheap stuff! No need to do anything else with it. Or move your shed to block it. Or anything really. Doesn't matter much as the cat will find another way to get through your garden.0

It's academic. The cat will keep on coming.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

Our cat can go straight up a 6ft fence, no problem at all.
But in any event just buy treated timber. I find Wickes is pretty good for timber.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0
