universal credit and pension contributions

HI i wonder if anyone can help me out as im getting nowhere with universal credit.

I work (for little over minumum wage) and receive top ups monthly via universal credit.

My monthly award letter clearly states for every £1 over £192 each month from my take home pay not including tax, national insurance and pension contributions. This I have no issues with BUT they are including £10 per week pension contribution in the deduction therefore im losing £6.50 a week off my payment. Thats anything between £26 and £32.50 each month we are missing and thats been since february. I have worked out they currently owe me £108 yet they say there is no records on their system of me making any pension contributions.

I phoned up hmrc and my pension contributions show up on their system and i have taken all my pay slips into them which also shows my pension contibutions.

Partly the problem arrises because you cant speak to the person that makes the decisions everything has to be relayed over the phone to the call centre.

Is anyone else having problems like this how much of our money are they holding back inthe hope no-one notices.

Sadly, errors are common with both UC payments being late and the amounts being incorrect (although it's worse for the self-employed claimants of UC).

It's net income which counts, so you're correct in that pension contributions should be taken off your pay each month and taken into account for the monthly reporting period.

Raise a complaint with the DWP HQ. You can do this via email or post or via the UC national contact centres over the 'phone.
Please be polite to OPs and remember this is a site for Claimants and Appellants to seek redress against their bank, ex-boss or retailer. If they wanted morality or the view of the IoD or Bank they'd ask them.

I would submit an appeal - that tends to get them moving.
