CTC 6th Form

Hi, just a quick question. A few months back I received a form from the Child Benefit Office, I completed this stating that DS was joining 6th Form in September. I have just received my Annual Review and my payments have been reduced due to a change in circumstances. This can be the only circumstance I can think of.
Do the Child Benefit Office not pass this information to the Tax Credits Office?
I have tried several times unsuccessfully to get through to the Helpline. If anybody could also give me some tips as to the best time to contact them I would be grateful, I seem to go through security and am then told that they are too busy and goodbye!

Agree with above. I had the same situation a few years back and always followed up the Child Benefit call with a call to the Tax Credits office. Always best for a belt and bracers approach. If this is for this coming September I believe that Tax Credits don't amend that until your son has actually started in September. The Child Tax credits would normally stop on 31st of August. So if you let them know before that. You should provide details of the College/Sixth Form and that it is for non advanced eductaion.0
