Lazy Conveyancer?

I may have confused my terminology but just to clarify it is the house we are buying, (our onward purchase) that is using EZie conveyancing.
The EA have been hassling last week but no one ever responds to anything. I've just phoned the couple we are buying from and he is furious that we haven't heard anything. Claims he returned the forms to them 3 weeks ago. Not sure who to believe it what here now!0 -
Could they have been waiting for you to be able to proceed - you hadn't sold yours when your offer was accepted if I have it right
Slightly unusual I know, but that is correct. We have instructed searches, had valuation done and have mortgage offer in hand already.
The house we are buying is only about 15 houses away from or current one so we see them all of the time.0 -
Ok so Vendor=seller.
You need to speak to your Sol and get them to call the EA of the seller to update them with what has/has not been done. Get the seller to speak to the EA to get the update, the problem is the seller cannot directly speak to your Sol, so doing it via the seller's EA is best. It might also be worth starting to view some other property's using the same EA as it all sounds to be rather messy now.0 -

That all sounds a little vague.
You should aim to know all the following about your vendor (via the EAs) :
- Is your vendor buying another property?
- Have they found one?
- Have they applied for a mortgage, done searches etc?
- How long is the chain above you?
Vague 'hassling' phone calls often don't achieve much. You (or the EA) need to ask your vendor closed questions like "Are You buying somewhere?", "Has your offer been accepted?", "Has your mortgage valuation been done?", "Have you got your mortgage offer?", "If not why not?" etc0 -

There is no onward chain. He is moving in with family until he emigrated at he end of the year, so no mortgages to sort out et he just has to clear the house. *Should* be nice and simple!
I am on hold waiting to speak to someone at purple bricks now to try and get some answers0 -
I've given up viewing properties marketed by Purple Bricks. Both times the 'local specialist' was a no show without any kind of warning.0

Sadly this is not unusual. Ezie/premier/first property all the same firm and they will progress it at their speed! The seller needs to pester daily to get some progress. They can actually respond quickly if you complain loud enough!0

People have their own agendas. Getting uppity won't speed up the process. The conveyancer works for their own client not you and will act on their instructions. .0 -

I totally get that. This is more of a rants post than anything else to be honest. It just annoys me that he was in a huge rush to begin with wanting a quick sale and is now stalling his backside.
I spoke to purple bricks and they phoned EZie and apparently the drafts etc are being sent out today. No idea why they haven't been done already.0
