Comparison sites which show results in units or TCR?

All the comparison rates want my postcode, current provider and details on history. I can see the sense from a switching perspective.

It all about savings, but when there's no baseline the system fails.

I'm moving house and so there's no history available at the new place. The previous owners ran a business from home so their provider is not on any comparison site, so I can't use that either.

I can't find any comparison site that will simply display the results as a table of unit rates, or TCR, and all the providers seem to obfuscate their basic information.

All I need is unit price + daily charge, but I have to manually trawl provider's sites which is taking ages.

Does anyone know a quick way to get to this information in basic form? :)

Post codes are necessary because of historic regional difference in pricing. AFAIK, no comparison site works as you want. 'Best Deals' change on usage so some assumption has to be made. For example, if I used 1000kWhs of electricity a year then Ebico might be ideal. Conversely, if I was using 10000kWhs/year, I would be looking for a supplier with a low unit charge.

Your situation is no different from someone moving into a new build. You have to make some basic kWH/year assumptions. Remember, when you first move in you will be on a Deemed Contract with the existing supplier. Moving from a business account to a domestic account is an added complication.

It's not really all that hard - you can make your own estimate of how much gas or leccy you are going to use, or use the generally accepted industry norms of about 13500kwh or gas and 3500kwh of leccy and put it in.

If it asks for your present supplier and tariff, then just use whichever one you fancy - BG Standard tariff or whatever as you don't have any history.

The comparison sites will then work out which is the cheapest. You don't need to know how much you'll save, just how much it's going to cost.

I think most comparison sites should have the option for "default industry standard" of "low"," medium" & "high" levels of usage.

The results should give you a "more info" link that gives you the exact terms including unit costs and standing charge

The TCR is meaningless rubbish and is only valid in the exact usage circumstances given and can give a false impression that one tariff is cheaper than another in your particular circumstances.
