Going to NYC in Feb - Any suggestions for some sun

We are planning to go to New York in Jan, Feb or March 06 for 4 nights and whilst on that side of the Atlantic we also would like 5-7 days of winter sun.
We don't really fancy Florida but I was wondering if anyone is able to provide any suggestions and ideas on somewhere else to visit. I had considered California and Vegas but worry that it won't be that warm at that time of year. Could be interested in Mexico, the Caribbean or the Bahamas and would welcome any pointers for the best place to look for accommodation only prices for hotels or packages which leave from NYC. I've looked on the usual Expedia and Travelocity type sites but they are either not showing availability because it's too early or are very expensive.
Our dates are totally flexible from mid January 06 to early March.

Theres quite a lot of cruises that sail south from NYC.
Theres a 7 day'er here ---> http://www.cruise.com/cs/Forms/CruiseResultsPage.aspx?CD=1&DF=12/18/2005&DT=12/19/2005&CL=6%7C9&CVC=-1&CV=-1&CSP=-1&CST=10&CP=-1&SN=&MT=&ZP1=&ZP2=&Ref=AS&AG=1
EDIT
Right for god knows what reason that link is one of them links that totaly ignores what it should be, and does something else, gets right on my nerves that does.
Anyway at the side you can ajust the dates location etc etc0 -
Thanks nelly, my girlfriend didn't enjoy her last cruise experience so that's a no go but out of interest the site did show a 7 nighter for $799 per person which I thought was pretty good value.
Any other ideas anyone?0 -
What about New orleans or Texas/Dallas0
