Flamingoland - where should we stay nearby?

We have tickets to Flamingoland and are hoping to go one weekend before the school holidays.
It's a bit of a trek for us so thought we'd stay nearby either/both the night before/after, but we're struggling to find anywhere cheap. I've checked out the Sun caravan park deals, but nothing on the dates we can do. Otherwise I'm stuck.
There's 4 of us, 2 adults, one child, one baby.
Can anyone advise on the best places to look into?

We just booked the following two places and neither were too expensive:

Hi
I live about 5 or 6 miles away from Flamingoland. The trouble is that this is a very popular tourist area so prices tend to be quite high as you have probably already discovered!
I know that you said self catering but the Black Bull Inn near Pickering do fairly cheap rooms. It's cheap and cheerful and I think that their accomodation has been refurbished. The bar food is very good. Pickering has about 20+ cafes so you would have no trouble finding somewhere for a cheap breakfast to fill you up before your day at Flamingoland.
There are Youth Hostels at Helmsley or Lockton, both an easy drive. Dont know anything about them but its a thought. If I come up with anything else I will let you know.0 -
i would probably stay in York. The coastliner bus from there goes direct via Malton!"if the state cannot find within itself a place for those who peacefully refuse to worship at its temples, then it’s the state that’s become extreme".Revd Dr Giles Fraser on Radio 4 20170
