How long until your hear back after completeing questionnairs for ESA

Hi my oh received his medical questionnaire late march and completed it and sent it back reordered delivery two weeks later early April he phoned and it was confirmed that they had received it in mid April but since then he has heard nothing this is an existing claim and in the past he has had to go for a medical with in a month of them receiving the from.

Any ideas why it is taken so long this time as my friend had there medical with in 3 weeks of sending their form back at the same time as my oh . Thanks xx

Hiya, I just had the form too; they received it on 15th March and I just got the medical date come through for 1st July. I originally migrated from Income Support & Incapacity Benefit and have been on ESA for two years I think now, it was awarded until 6th April.

    Hi,
I got mine early March, it was filled in and returned pretty much straight away and I got a paper decision within 2 weeks that I didn't need a medical and was being kept in the support group.

I dunno what they play at; they told me they had requested evidence from my GP (who is a locum GP) and there is no record of any evidence being requested nor sent to the DWP. The locums don't do any paperwork anyway & the secretary at my GPs e-mailed the locum they apparently contacted to check, and nothing. The DWP refuse to tell the secretary exactly who sent this evidence!

Oh dear that's awful, I wish they would realise how it effects people when they mess people around like this. it is not like any of us chose to be with the health problems we have got yet we are made to feel like cheats having to prove how ill we are . How did we get to the situation that a nurse doing these assessment's can override what a G,P / Consultant says about our health it laughable xx

Yes this can happen. Hopefully the decision will be good and he's be put into one of the groups.

I sent mine off on Jan 3rd, didn't hear anything until May. They cancelled my first appointment when I was driving to it (by phone call). When I did go I was turned down by a decision maker, asked for a mandatory reconsideration and was turned down again. No surprise really as 90% of these decisions are upheld by the decision maker.
So it's off to the appeal I go. 😕
