Revoking a Contract With Claims Management Company

Is this possible ? - got kind of led into agreeing to let them take the claim on, they done a "free" search and when they contacted me to say they had found PPI on an old MBNA loan I was convinced over the phone verbally to agree that they could pursue the claim, I never signed anything in writing to confirm this.

It has been many many weeks since this and i've never heard anything further from them, I called a good few weeks back and they said that they had sent their first claim letter in and were awaiting a response. Ive heard nothing further since and wish now after reading all this that i had actually just done it myself instead of agreeing to them doing it.

Am I STUCK with them now. Thanks.

There is no database of people with PPI. Your insurance details are not in the public domain. So, there is no such thing as a free search.

How did they do that without your signature?
    Have MBNA responded?

  • They initially sent me some forms to sign which were for them to request information from my lenders if i had ppi. They said that MBNA had responded that I did have PPI, they called me and asked me some questions over the phone about my work at the time of the loan, health, financial situation etc, then said they would submit a claim,

When i spoke to them they said that MBNA had not responded to their initial letter as of that date.

MBNA would normally write to you.

That initial bit you signed would likely have included a contract. If it didnt then there is nothing to cancel.

I would very much doubt the OP has not signed a contract, whether he believes so or not..
  • I havent heard anything direct from MBNA but may give them a call. Thank you,.
