New Build nearly ready - what next?

This is a first for us and we'd be grateful for any advice and to hear of any similar experiences from other 'New Build' buyers.
The salesperson at the Bellway location where we are buying the New Build informed us several months ago that the house would be ready for us to move into on the 24th June.
She gives us weekly updates and it's always confirmed that they're still on target for the 24th June.
On the 17th June we have our 'walk-through' with the site manager arranged. So all is looking well, exciting times!
However, our solicitor hasn't yet had the paperwork from the Bellway solicitors (Shoosmiths) confirming in writing that the 24th June is indeed the move-in date and detailing the exact payment due etc.
With just under two weeks to go, is this unusual that our solicitor hasn't yet heard from the Bellway solicitors, or is it a common event?
Thanks in advance

I'm about to go through the same thing but with a Barratt home, I suspect if they're using Shoosmiths then your Bellway development isn't a million miles from mine.
I've been told that when they're ready to complete then your solicitor will receive notice of up to anywhere between 10 & 21 days. This won't happen until the NHBC (or other warranty provider) has completed their final inspection of the build. As today is the 12th I'd be expecting it to be less likely you'll complete on the 21st unfortunately.
Hope you hear something one way or another soon.0 -

Thanks mleach that's appreciated,
The 24th June is supposed to be the move-in date so still 12 days to go, but I guess that's still cutting it fine!
I haven't a clue about the time frame of these things and how long it takes to 'tie matters up' from when our solicitor receives the letter from Shoosmiths!0 -
Do you mean 24th June is your completion date that was set when you exchanged?
They will sent you a completion statement and I needed one working day to transfer the funds.
I would ask your solicitor to chase, I found sometimes they just waited for things to land on their laps.0 -
If you are using HTB, they require at least 10 working days notice for release of funds (at least on paper). If you are using a standard mortgage, I believe 3-4 days notice is enough for most lenders.
Builders usually give 2 weeks official notice, so I'd question if the 24th is still going to happen. It should be written into your contract what your official notice period is, have a little read, or ask your sols.
Your sols will be able to tie things up within half a day, as long as all funds are in place. On my last new build purchase, the house was signed off by NHBC on Wednesday morning and we completed on the Thursday, when we got notice of completion from our sols around 14:00 and picked up the keys 15 minutes later. They did consider completing on the Wednesday afternoon, as soon as it was signed off, but decided it was cutting it too close for the money transfers to go through, etc.0 -

Thanks, that's really useful info.0 -

We are completing our sale on Friday 24th as well but with a different developer to you. Our building certificate and official confirmation to the solicitors is due today (all on track) as the solicitor needs 10 days notice to complete. Looking at the post above it seems likely that's to do with the HTB monies.
Ive spoken to my solicitor a few times last week just to make sure there are no issues as our mortgage offer runs out on June 30th and our tenancy at our rental is up on the 29th.
Id chase to be certain - if they haven't given the solicitor enough time then that dates going to be pushed out - mines been pushed out 4 times!0
