Tax credit timescale

Hey guys sorry in advance.

I know this is kind of a how long is a piece of string thing but those who have renewal sent back, how long did it take you to hear back, if you have.

The only reason I ask if they have decided to cut payments while admiting under paying us, leaving us on a very scary tight budget.

I'm fully expecting another month before I hear but was wondering how others got on?

Its very difficult to say. Two years ago I had self employed losses to deduct from a redundancy payment. I renewed on 11th May after they stop my payments. That renew was complicated ( apparently ) and they made mistakes twice because my figure did not match RTI. Anyway I had to go to mandatory review and eventually ( around Sep ) it was sorted out.

This year Im just on ESA ( as taxable pay ) and the renewal took 3 days ! Renewed on line 24th May and final decision letter 26th May ! So a completely different timescale.

What I would say is that even when they stopped my payments on 11th May due to the previous years query. When I gave them the estimate for the then current year they DID restart payments. Can they not do that for you ? Also the quickest way to note if they have updated the system is an one off odd payment in your bank

    Hope you sort it quickly

  • I'm checking online ;-) keeping a watchful eye. They won't touch it although admit it's wrong, leaving me struggling for food but hey ho. Just tests how frugal I can be I guess.

I got a text from the saying received and up to 8 weeks last week and they had all our details, only had to amend my maternity deductions. She did say should hear soon. Just would like it sorted lol

Will be nice whenever it gets done :) thanks for replying

    Hi
I'm having the same problem....they have updated and changed my payments this year but keep saying it's not finalised to pay out my underpayment from last year! I've had an auto renewal this year and it seems to be dragging....have to wait until 31st July to receive the money they're owe me :(
