Part of the hedge at the front of my house is starting to look poorly and it stinks.
Anyone any idea what's causing it and, more importantly, how I can cure it?

Many thanks for any help

I can't quite see on your picture but are those holes in the foliage?
It could be viburnum beetle.

From reading your link it certainly could be, thanks0 -
Does the hedge smell like cat pee? If so then there's a straightforward reason, and it involves cats!
They do seem to like to scent mark bushes to mar out their territories. If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -
I've noticed that older viburnum tinus can have an unpleasant smell. I used to notice this most in the local park, where the bushes were probably decades old and not subject to many visits from cats, foxes etc.
It was most apparent at a particular time of year, but I can't remember if that was summer.0
